Almost 8 years ago, Seyi Oluyole moved back to Nigeria from the U.S with one mission, “to start a dance/arts-centred organization for street children.” The goal was simple – to create a path to education and a better and sustainable future through their talents.
She had her secondary school education at the DOSEG International College, Lagos and later proceeded to bag a Bachelor of Arts (B.A) in English and Literary Studies from Covenant University, Nigeria. She has a Master's Degree in Human Services from the Bellevue University, Omaha, Nebraska.
Seyi Oluyole's academy provides shelter and all the basic necessities of life to her students who can’t afford these. She has worked with underprivileged children for 14 years; starting as a teenager. She uses innovative education to impact the lives of young kids. She has catered to over 500 kids in Ebute Metta Slum and in Ikorodu.
Aside from catering to underprivileged kids, she houses them, clothes them and takes care of their general welfare. Her foundation holds an annual summer program which offers free summer coaching to children in Ebute-Metta Slums and empowers them with back to school materials at the end of the summer program. Her Dream Catchers project has gotten international attention from celebrities like Beyonce, Naomi Campbell, Rihanna, Diddy, Cardi B, John Boyega; to mention a few.
Oluwaseyi Oluyole is also an social entrepreneur, author, screenwriter, gender equality advocate and creative director.
Seyi Oluyole is passionate about arts education and innovative education. She has worked in the educational sector and creative arts for over seven years and has created lasting economic benefits for children and young adults through her programs. Her innovative work has gotten recognition from Hollywood celebrities like Beyonce, Naomi Campbell, Justin Bieber and many others.
She gained recognition from the BBC as one of the twenty Outlook Inspirations for 2018, the same year, Dream Catchers Academy's project received a recognition plaque from the Governor of Lagos State; the organization and their recipients featured on the CNN African Voices Change Makers series and other mass media platforms like Aljazeera, Yahoo News, ET Canada, to name a few. Ms Oluyole is a recipient of awards from the Nigerian Child Initiative.
The 27-year-old Seyi Oluyole was featured by UNICEF for their youth project tagged ‘Naija Youth Talk’ and also served as a resource personnel for UNICEF with two of the Kids from her foundation for their project tagged ‘Girls 4 Girls’ conference in 2019.
She was nominated for The Future Awards Africa 2019 in the education category and won The D & KSuomi Humanitarian award in the same year.
She also bagged the Force of Social Good Trendup Awards 2023.
Seyi, through her works, has supported over 200 women and girls in suburban areas of Lagos, Nigeria. She is a notable leader, resilient and active in advancing the rights of women and girls in Africa.
Ms. Oluyole has written for African Magic's Soap Operas- Tinsel, Hustle - amongst other.
She directed and produced her first short film ; Gbera in 2016. The short film was nominated for various awards and went on to win Best Short Film at the Eko International Film Festival 2018.
