Victor Emmanuel Osodeke is a Professor of Soil Science and current National President of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU.

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) is a Nigerian Union of University academic staff, founded in 1978. ASUU is an offshoot of the Nigerian Association of University Teachers (NAUT) which was established in 1965. 

Professor Victor Emmanuel Osodeke emerged as ASUU's President on 30 May 2021.

Born on 5th August, Osodeke works as a Professor of Soil Science at the Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike, Abia State.

Professor Emmanuel Osodeke was born in Kokori, Ethiope east local government of Delta State. He got his BSc from Rivers State University of Science and Technology in 1987, and a Master of Science from the University of Ibadan in 1989. He got his Postgraduate Diploma in Agro-meteorology from the Israeli Institute of Meteorology in 1994, and in 2002, he got his PhD from Michael Okpara University of Agriculture in Umudike.

He took over from Prof. Biodun Ogunyemi, a professor of education at the Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State, who led ASUU during a period it engaged the government in a long battle for a better funding of the sector, welfare demands and the call for the abrogation of the contentious Integrated Payroll Personnel and Information System, IPPIS. 

Osodeke, a Professor of Soil Science at the Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike, Abia State, was the immediate National Vice President of the union.

He however emerged at the National Conference following the end of the tenure of Prof. Biodun Ogunyemi, promising that the struggles of the union for better funding of the sector and treatment of his members will continue during his tenure.

Osodeke was a lecturer at Delta State University, Abraka, he was also the chairman of Academic Staff Union of Universities in Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike. He is a visiting professor at the University of Calabar and University of Cape Cost, Ghana. On 30 May, 2021 he was elected national president of the Academic Staff Union of Universities.

Emmanuel Osodeke is married to Onome Osodeke and the union is blessed with four children.

Professor Emmanuel Osodeke also served as the Director Continue Education Centre (CEC) MOUAU.
He has made servers publications on education journals.
