Korty EO Early Life

Eniola Olanrewaju was born and raised in Southern Nigeria. She is the middle child in her family; she has an older brother and a younger sister, Ralia. Korty EO graduated from the University of Ibadan in 2018 with a degree in computer science and then relocated to Lagos for a job at Zikoko.

Korty EO Career

Korty started modelling in 2017 after signing with Few Models. She walked the runway for Lagos Fashion and Design Week and GTCO Fashion Weekend and modelled for Lisa Folawiyo's SS18 Kwenu collection.

In March 2018, Korty EO began to work for Zikoko as a Video Producer before working for Mr Eazi's emPawa Africa as Head of content in January 2020 for ten months.

In November 2020, She went on to fully begin a youtube channel where she has now gained fast popularity and followership. She has interviewed various Nigerian celebrities on her YouTube show, Flow with Korty.

Korty first joined YouTube on 18 January 2019 and uploaded her first video in July 2020. As at November 2021, her channel had gained over 80,000 subscribers. She currently has over 170,000 subscribers on her YouTube channel. She began her video series "Flow, With Korty" in November 2020 and has since interviewed various celebrities like Don Jazzy, Ayra Starr, Niyi Okeowo, Ashley Okoli and Blaqbonez.

According to Eniola Olarenwaju, what she really wanted to do was Filmmaking. This made her start learning filmmaking immediately she completed her Computer Science degree at the University of Ibadan.

Korty EO started graphics designing when she was just 8 years old, where she learnt how to use paint on windows and Corel Draw. She has worked for many Designers like Ejiro Amos Tafiri, Meena, Re, Tsemaye Binitie, Maxhosa by Laduma, Kiki Kamanu, Lisa Folawiyo, Gert-Johan Coetzee, sunny rose, Grey, Elie Kuame, Titi Bello, to mention a few.

Korty EO also teaches a design course. She started these classes because she uses to have a lot of people come to her to ask if they could learn how to design. She also claims to be self-taught on basic design tools like Photoshop and if she had gotten the right supervision earlier, she would have been so much better at designing.

As part of her great feats, Korty EO has given a speech at Stanford University, been recognised by YouTube’s Up Next programme, earned partnerships with Skillshare and a host of other international companies, become a meme and even inspired a song by Afro-fusion star Buju on his debut EP ‘Sorry I’m Late’.

However, Korty remains adamant that she is not an influencer. “I have a community, that I am sure of. I am not an influencer but I know I have some level of influence,” she reflects. “I don’t really know what my category is. What I feel like I am doing is creating a category that doesn’t exist yet.”
