Born in May of 1991, Sandrah Tubobereni, the Creative Director of TUBO, an emerging Nigerian designer, best known for her creativity in redesigning the traditional African bridal, distinctive silhouette, and chic prêt-à-porter fashion clothing, came into the Nigerian fashion scene in November 2014 when she switched from her career in Business Development and Finance. 

Tubo is the Creative Director of an internationally renowned clothing brand, TUBO, which was created to cater to the needs of fashionable women across the globe and it has become one of the leading luxury clothing brands in the world. She is best known for her unique designs, creativity, and impeccable desire to break free from the norm.

As an alumnus of the London College of Fashion, Tuibo's vision is to make an impact and change the narrative of the fashion industry. She is also internationally recognized for her creativity in redefining bridal attires while infusing distinct fashion elements into every piece. With her striking collections, she has been considered to be one of the greatest influences in Africa.

Tubo had her undergraduate Bachelor of Science degree in Economics in 2010 from MADONNA UNIVERSITY, OKIJA, NIGERIA. She later proceeded to Coventry University, where she bagged a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in global FINANCIAL SERVICES in 2013. She also attended the London College of Fashion, the University of the Arts, and the Lagos Business School, Pan-Atlantic University.

She is a creative and self-motivated MBA graduate with distinction in MBA Global Financial Services from Coventry University, U.K.

As an MBA student, she interned at Ecoluxe Fashion, London, a U.K. eco-fashion exhibition and promotion company where she helped take advantage of the 230,000 clicks on the company's website to create an online boutique to sell the company’s ethical products. 

She managed organization and customer-specific problems, met and exceeded my deadlines, and worked in and even led teams that achieved excellent overall objectives. She also excelled in asset portfolio management and hypothetical online stock trading simulation activities.

She has proven leadership and entrepreneurial skills as creative director of Tubo Clothing Nigeria Limited), which would meet the expectations of any international brand. 


As a result of her oval and international work experience, she has developed effective communication, multicultural sensitivity, and interpersonal skills 

In 2016, she released the debut collection of her brand, titled “Lé première by TUBO”, which gained her local and international recognition and invitation from platforms like Africa Fashion Week London, Aim Higher Africa and press features and interviews on National TV, pages of newspapers and magazines like ThisDay Style, Genevieve Magazine, A-list blogs like Bellanaija and so on.

Sandrah has the vision to change the world through fashion and make "TUBO" a multi-award-winning international brand present not just on the international runways and high streets but in the hearts of women globally.

32-year-old Sandrah Tubobereni, known by her designer name as “Tubo”, is an up-and-coming designer from Lagos, Nigeria. Tubo made her debut on the runway of the 2016 Africa Fashion Week Nigeria with “Lé Premieré”, a gorgeous spring/summer collection featuring bright and bold-hued pieces in swishing silhouettes. 2 years later, the young designer is swarmed with constant demands for her take on traditional African bridal dresses, colorful ready-to-wear, and haute couture.

Tubo, according to her bio on African Fashion Week Nigeria, started out as a businesswoman but changed career paths to follow her dream of creating a global fashion line. She envisioned that her label would give the rest of the world “a taste of Africa”, as stated in her interview with Al Jazeera. With her striking collection, she has certainly succeeded in transferring her traditional Nigerian roots into a modern, wearable everyday style.

Tubo’s own work consists of modern and sophisticated, yet playful silhouettes with plenty of fabric around the legs for ample movement. When you see a Tubo signature on a woman, you feel as if there is room to breathe. The style is easy-going, but still elegant enough to strike out on a ballroom floor. Her Cinderella floor-length gowns are sure to wow a crowd. The angular silhouettes of her African-inspired wedding dresses are both modern and traditional. Her chic business-casual daywear can brighten up any office with its refreshing contrast of crisp white against boldly pigmented hues.

Prominent Nigerian women who have worn Tubo’s designs include makeup artist and lawyer Tara Durotoye, broadcaster Gbemi Olateru, and actresses Mimi Onolaja, Layole Oyatogun, and Chika Ike. The young designer has already seen her work featured on the red carpet and now attends to clientele from around the world.


Tubo also uses social media to promote her designs internationally. Both local and global clients reach out to the designer daily, seeing her latest works displayed on her Instagram. It’s no surprise that the account generates thousands of eager customers and fans; the photos capture each stunning look curated and styled by the brand.
